A celebration of Filipino art at Power Plant Mall
MANILA, Philippines - Power Plant Mall, in partnership with Galerie Joaquin, presents a series of exhibits that showcase the range of Philippine art.
National Artists Arturo Luz, Federico Alcuaz, Abdulmari Imao, Presidential Medal of Merit awardee Juvenal Sanso, modernists Raul Isidro, Ramon Orlina, Jaime Roque and Carlo Magno, Ross Capili, Rudolf Gonzalez, CamilleVer and Luis Balmes show the development of art history through generations — tracing similarities in themes, concepts and aesthetics — in “Masters and Vanguards,” which is on view until Aug. 7 at the North Court of Power Plant Mall, Rockwell, Makati.
At the South Court, Vincent de Pio, Gilbert Semillano, Kara de Dios, Aileen Lanuza, Carlo Ongchangco, Migs Villanueva, Reybert Ramos, Anna De Leon and Daisy Carlos feature off-the-edge works and installations in “Contemporary Now.”
Carlo Magno, Joe Datuin, Michael Cacnio, Toym Imao, Jerry Morada, Gerrico Blanco, Omi Reyes, Jaime Gubaton, Romel Obemio, Arnel Borja and Aia Halili present an all-sculpture exhibition, which is on view until Aug. 7 at the Basement Concourse.
