The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Association of Ballet Academies, Philippines (ABAP) will hold the ABAP Ballet Competition from Aug. 30 to 31 at the Meralco Theater.

For over two decades, ABAP has been at the forefront in  the development of dance in its various forms through its affiliated members around the country. Founded in 1993, ABAP has gained grounds in the upgrading of classical ballet education through workshops, performances, tours,  and other related activities. It is the country’ s longest existing organization of dance academies. Its objective is to strive towards the highest standards of teaching for its students and uphold the dignity and ethics that form the backbone of ABAP’s core values.

The Board of ABAP is comprised of Noemi Onglengco Silangcruz, president; Jonathan Terry, vice president; Bella Bengco, secretary; Ianne Damian, treasurer; and Liza de la Fuente, PRO.

ABAP’s next project will be the annual “Danseries” slated on Nov. 29-30 at the AFP Theater.
