‘The Surface of the World’ at MCAD

The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) presents “The Surface of the World: Architecture and the Moving Image,” which opens on June 6 at MCAD, Dominga, Pasay City. The show runs until Sept. 27.

Curated by Clare Carolin, former curator at the ModernArt Oxford, the National Touring Exhibitions and Hayward Gallery, London, the show features artworks that are all video-based, working with the idea of the moving image, and investigates a range of practices from video works and installations to that of shorts and full-length films.

The exhibit brings together 12 artists — from the UK, Taiwan, Philippines, Thailand, Poland and Germany — including Saskia Olde Wolbers, John Smith, Tacita Dean, John Gerrard, Apichatpong Weeraseethakul and Elizabeth Price.

For details, call 230-5100 or email mcad@benilde.edu.ph.
