Food and writing workshop in Baguio reset to March 28-30
MANILA, Philippines - “Love Food, Love Words: A Cooking and Writing Workshop in Baguio†has been moved to the weekend of March 28-30 at Iggy’s Inn, South Drive, Baguio City.
A project of Aurora Tamayo Bautista with the Baguio Writers Group (BWG), the workshop seeks to make food, its preparation and cooking as an entry point to writing by awakening the senses and evoking memories.
Tamayo Bautista, former newspaper columnist and author of a collection of essays, The Rainbow Connection, teams up with sister-in-law Leonisa Bautista, co-author (with Adelaida Lim) of A Matter of Taste: The Culinary Memoirs of Jean McGarvin de Vera, for the cooking portion of the workshop. BWG’s Jenny Cariño, Merci Javier Dulawan, Baboo Mondoñedo and Babeth Lolarga will facilitate the writing exercises.
The workshop fee of P5,000 for non-Baguio residents includes lodging (for those from out of town), meals for three days, materials and handouts. For Baguio residents, the fee is P3,500. Senior citizen and student discounts will be honored.
