5 Filipino poets launch ‘Companionable Voices’

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Five major Filipino poets from the 1960s will launch a special edition commemorative folio titled Companionable Voices. They are Cesar Ruiz Aquino, Recah A. Trinidad, Erwin E. Castillo, Wilfredo Pascua Sanchez, and the recently deceased Juan Jose Jolico Cuadra, to whom the book is dedicated. Together labeled “A Lost Generation” for their relative silence in the past decades, the book demonstrates undiminished passion and talent. The book launches on Oct. 24, Thursday, 6 p.m. at the Malayan Plaza on Ortigas Avenue. There will be readings from the book and music by the acclaimed soprano Aileen Espinosa-Cura, and the rock band Sandwich.
