‘Sining sa Kongreso 4’ opens at the South Wing of the House of Representatives

MANILA, Philippines - “Sining sa Kongreso 4,” the fourth annual visual art exhibition organized by the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc. (CSFI), is now on view at the South Wing Lobby of the House of Representatives complex in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Personalities from the world of politics and art came to the opening last Sept. 9, led by CSFI president and Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte. Among the guests were National Artist Napoleon Abueva, renowned glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, Makati Congresswoman Abby Binay, Ilocos Congressman Eric Singson Jr. and eminent art writer Alice Guillermo.

Organized in partnership with Art Gallery Asia (Patriarch Building, 2224 Pasong Tamo corner Don Bosco St., Makati City), “Sining sa Kongreso 4” features a wide range of works that represent the very best in Philippine Mondern and Contemporary visual art. Among the works on view are paintings by National Artists Fernando Amorsolo, Arturo Luz and Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, ceramic plates by National Artist Jose Joya, sculptures by Ramon Orlina and Michael Cacnio, and works by Mauro “Malang” Santos, Mario Parial, Tam Austria, and Manny Garibay, as well as contemporary artists Andres Barrioquinto, Rene Cuvos and Josue Mangroban.

The proceeds of the project will benefit the projects of CSFI.
