‘Sining sa Kongreso’ at the South Wing of the House of Representatives

MANILA, Philippines - Organized by the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc, (CSFI) “Sining sa Kongreso 4” is a survey of the history of Philippine art augmented by works that demonstrate the increasing stature and development of contemporary art practices. These include works of impeccable provenance from the likes of National Artists Fernando Amorsolo, Jose Joya, Arturo Luz, and Federico Aguilar Alcuaz; modern masters Mauro “Malang” Santos and Tam Austria, sculptors Ramon Orlina and Michael Cacnio, and contemporary artists Rene Cuvos and Josue Mangroban. Also in the exhibition are works by James Onglepho, Prudencio Lamarroza, Mario Parial, Manny Garibay, Marcel Antonio, Andres Barrioquinto, Angelo Tabije, Alfredo Esquillo, Norma Balleza, Farley De Rosario, Zean Cabangis, and Antonio Leano.

Organized in partnership with Art Gallery Asia, “Sining sa Kongreso 4” is a project of the president and chairperson of CSFI, Josefina Belmonte, and the head of its committee of public information and communication, Mons Romulo. The exhibition opens today at 2 p.m. at the South Wing of the House of Representatives in Batasan Hills, Quezon City. The show is on view until Sept. 27.
