Salcedo Auctions holds first all-contemporary art sale

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Salcedo Auctions introduces “Art Today,” its inaugural sale of contemporary Philippine art on June 29 at 2 p.m. featuring pieces on offer capture the spirit of the times.

Working in the hyperrealist style, existential unease permeates the beautiful stillness of the works of ASEAN Art Award winner Nona Garcia, who presents two views of a spartan apartment in “Points of Departure.” John Santos’ “Chauffeur,” an ode to memory, hearkens to 1920’s Americana while Brian Uhing, celebrated for his impeccable technique and surrealist style, makes a rare and much-awaited appearance with an untitled nude in oil.

Other exponents include Ronald Ventura, Rodel Tapaya, Mark Justiniani and internationally-renowned Manuel Ocampo, among others. Preview is ongoing at Three Salcedo Place. The online catalogue is available at salcedoauctions.com.

For inquiries, call Karen Kua-Lerma at 0917-5912191 or 659-4094, or e-mail info@salcedoauctions.com.
