Angelic voices from Monaco in Philippine debut
MANILA, Philippines - As part of the group’s 2013 Asian tour, the Little Singers of Monaco — one of the world’s most renowned boys’ choirs — under director Pierre Debat, will make its Philippine debut with a series of concerts around Metro Manila from July 9 to 14.
The “little singing ambassadors,†who are under the patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco, have performed in over 35 countries and have been featured in 15 albums.
The group launches its Philippine tour with a performance at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Auditorium on July 9, 4:30 p.m. for its 85th anniversary celebration. This will be followed by a series of performances at The Block, SM North EDSA on July 12, 5 p.m., Greenbelt 5 on July 13, 7 p.m., and SM Mall of Asia on July 14, 5 p.m.
The distinct sound of the Little Singers of Monaco emanates from the smooth blending of voices of its 28 choir members who range from ages ten to 18. The group’s repertoire features works by Bach, Mozart, Verdi, Wagner, Mendelssohn and Charpentier, among others.
The Philippine tour of the Little Singers of Monaco is sponsored by the Consulate General of Monaco headed by Consul General Fortune Ledesma together with Sinagtala management for Filipino Performing Arts executive director Martin Lopez in cooperation with the Department of Tourism, Manila Pavilion Hotel, Ayala Malls, SM Malls and DZFE 98.7 FM, the official media partner.
