Gallery News: Nelfa Querubin’s book launch and art exhibit at Liongoren Gallery
MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of Woman’s month, Liongoren Gallery presents Nelfa Querubin’s recent works in stoneware and paintings from March 9 to 31 at Liongoren Gallery.
Her latest book Peace and Joy, a moving story on her spiritual journey will be launched during the exhibit opening. The book is beautifully illustrated with her paintings in diverse media. These paintings will form part of the exhibition.
Querubin is a native of Miag-ao, Iloilo where she used to have her studio pottery and a long time resident of Denver, Colorado. She was a 1980 Thirteen Artists Awardee from the Cultural Center of the Philippines and a recipient of various awards at art festivals in the US. Her pots could be described as “richly worked mixture of vessel and sculpture that demonstrate the universal truth of the power of clay.â€

Guy Custodio at Pinto Art Gallery
Dr. Joven Cuanang’s Pinto Art Gallery features as its Lenten exhibit, Guy Custodio, the Boholano artist who has restored ceiling paintings, retablos, Stations of the Cross, and other artworks in churches in Bohol.
For this show titled “Urna: Catching the Spirit of a Heritage,†Custodio features luminous original interpretation of deeply religious themes — presented in bright Byzantine color schemes, mirroring our rich cultural heritage.
