Filipino, Spanish and Mexican artists at ‘Conectados’ in the Makati CBD

MANILA, Philippines - Tonight, Nov. 12, will be the last chance to see works of 29 Filipino, Spanish and Mexican photographers projected on five primary buildings in the Makati Central Business District.

The public video projections are part of “Conectados,” an ongoing multimedia project organized by Ayala Museum and Embajada de España en Filipinas, in partnership with Instituto Cervantes, Indochina Strings, and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines. Featured photographers include Jaime Zobel, Neal Oshima, Kidlat de Guia, Raena Fe Abella, Paquito Ochoa Jr, and Wig Tysmans (Philippines); Cesar Caballero, Jose Manuel Navia, and Alfredo Tobia (Spain); and Luis Arango and Cecilia Hurtado (Mexico).

“Conectados” was launched on Nov. 8 with a special laser graffiti performance of world-renowned Spanish multimedia artist Suso33 on the facade of Ayala Museum. For five nights, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Ayala Museum, Glorietta 5, Greenbelt 5, The Link, and Tower One and Exchange Plaza become large-scale canvases for photographs celebrating shared cultures and traditions of the Philippines, Spain, and Mexico.

The photographs may also be viewed at the Ground Floor Gallery of Ayala Museum until Nov. 25. “Conectados” is co-curated by Caballero, a Spanish artist residing in the Philippines, and Kenneth Esguerra, Ayala Museum’s senior curator and head of conservation.

Several complementing activities, including lectures, workshops and film screenings, have also been organized at Ayala Museum, Escuela Taller in Intramuros, Instituto Cervantes, and Phillip Paraan Gallery and B-Side at The Collective.
