Piano concert in memory of Ateneo professor Doreen Fernandez
MANILA, Philippines - On the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of food columnist and beloved Ateneo professor Doreen G. Fernandez, pianists Della Besa and Anamaria de Guzman will perform at the Escaler Hall of the Ateneo de Manila University on Sept. 27, 4:30 p.m.
The duo-piano concert will feature Filipino classics and songs from the Great American Songbook. Joining them are Gilda G. Grande and Rene Angelo S. Prado. Della Besa is the sister of Doreen Fernandez.
A Mass in memory of Fernandez will be celebrated at 4 p.m. at the College Chapel (Gonzaga Hall). An exhibition of her life and works at the Ateneo Library of Women’s Writings (Rizal Library Special Collections Building) will run until Nov. 9.
