Batanes Photo Safari

MANILA, Philippines - Photo above shows the old Cathedral of Basco built in 1795. The old stone church has been renovated by the current bishop.  The Basilica’s facade has always been the model of the other three old churches in Batanes — The Church of San Carlos Borromeo in Mahatao, 1787; the San Jose Church in Ivana, 1795; and the San Vicente Ferrer Church of Sabtang in 1844. These churches are the subjects of  Mandy Navasero’s Batanes Photo Safari’s  architectural studies. Batanes Photo Safari will be held from Feb. 24 to 27; March 9 to 12, 23 to 27; April 6-11  (both dates with five persons staying overnight in Itbayat), 14 to 17, and 27 to 30; May 4 to 8, 11 to 15, and 25 to 29.  E-mail mandynavasero@yahoo.com  or call 896-3208 or 09155430482; http://mandy-navasero.blogspot.com.
