19 actors, 5 scenes and 1 roof - 'Unlimited Text'
MANILA, Philippines - Unlimited Text brings an unusual and fun way to experience theater and fall in love with dramatic “text” again. This “fun-raising project” for the benefit of the Theater Actors Guild will be held today and on Oct. 3, 2011, 9 p.m., at Taumbayan, 40 Gener St. corner K-1st St., Kamuning, Quezon City.
A diverse cast of 19 theater actors will gather together under one roof for a night of staged readings of scenes from relatively well-known material. Scenes from Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Network, John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt: A Parable, Rolando Tinio’s May Katwiran ang Katwiran and Yasmina Reza’s Art will each be given a new take to make things more exciting.
Unlimited Text, v.1 — the first of the series — is curated by Ana Abad Santos. Scenes are directed/adapted by Bea Garcia, George de Jesus III, JoMari Jose, Jake Macapagal, Joel Saracho, and include Delphine Buencamino, Red Concepcion, Richard Cunanan, Clyde Enriquez, Topper Fabregas, Gwyn Guanzon, Jenny Jamora, Jojit Lorenzo, Roselyn Perez, Gabriel Santos, Peter Serrano, Neil Tolentino and Regina de Vera.
