'Sanso Moderno' book launch slated July 21

MANILA, Philippines - Sanso Moderno, a book that features Juvenal Sanso’s new direction in painting, will be launched on July 21, 5 p.m., at Galerie Stephanie. The 62-page book was written by Reuben Ramas Caete and is published by Southeast Asian Heritage Publications Inc., the publishers of the magazine Contemporary Art Philippines. The artist will autograph books from 4 p.m. to 8 pm.

The paintings in the book were introduced in a series of shows at Galerie Stephanie and the GJ Asian Art Gallery at the Regent Hotel in Singapore. These paintings, a return to vistas and landscapes, underscore Sanso’s position as a true modernist master.
