Spanish for children at Instituto Cervantes
MANILA, Philippines – Are you looking for a cool, effective way to share the Spanish language with your child? Throughout this summer, Instituto Cervantes de Manila (ICM) will offer kids an opportunity to learn Spanish language and culture with their Spanish Summer Courses.
ICM, the only official Spanish Government Language Center, has developed an engaging program that allows children to acquire Spanish naturally while exploring their world through playful interaction.
Called Spanish for Children, the summer program is small (minimum of eight and maximum of 15 students) to maintain the quality of learning at Instituto Cervantes and grouped according to both age and language proficiency to ensure maximum learning for each individual.
The summer course is designed as a fun way to start learning Spanish at a young age through interactive and non-interactive activities that are educational. Two options are available for this program: Group 1, for children ages five to eight; and Group 2, for children ages 9 to 12. Both courses have a total of 30 hours at one and half hours per session. It is scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
ICM director José Rodríguez says that since language is attached to culture, ICM offers young students a special opportunity to get in touch with the Spanish culture through a wide selection of materials for kids available in the library such as movies, children’s books, short stories and adventures and music.
Classes for the Spanish for children courses start on April 4 and conclude on May 27. Last day of enrolment is on April 1.
