John Frank Sabado at BenCab Museum's Gallery Indigo

-

MANILA, Philippines - “ECOWARRIORS: Paintings & Drawings by John Frank Sabado” opens on Feb. 27, 4 p.m., at the Gallery Indigo of the BenCab Museum. The show is on view until March 27.

In the dreams and in the solo exhibition of John Frank Sabado, the “EcoWarrior” is a wood-carved bulol (rice god/guardian) come to us from ancient times, wearing a gas mask and destroying the chainsaws that razed the forests of the Philippine Cordillera. Through this striking figure the artist sends out a silent yet powerful battle cry to stop the destruction of the earth.

BenCab Museum is at Km. 6 Asin Road, Metro Baguio. For information, call +6374-4457163, e-mail bencabartfoundation@gmail.com, or www.bencabmuseum.org.
