PETA revisits a Juan Tamad tale
MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) stages Si Juan Tamad, Ang Diyablo at ang Limang Milyong Boto every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., until March 14 at the PETA Theater Center, 5 Eymard Drive, New Manila, Quezon City.
Vincent A. DeJesus reprises his role as Diyablo, the evil yet witty character who pushes Juan Tamad to be — as his name goes — lazy and apathetic during the Punong Brgy. Elections of the imaginary island of Filiminimon.
Alternating his role as Diyablo is award-winning actor, Robert Seña. The role of Juan Tamad is essayed by two young actors gifted with incredible vocal range, Marvin Ong and Victor Robinson III while Lola Anitan, Juan Tamad’s groovy grandmother and confidant is played by Joann Co and Stella Cañete.
Si Juan Tamad, Ang Diyablo at ang Limang Milyong Boto is directed by Phil M. Noble.
