'Migration and American Literature' lecture series at FEU

MANILA, Philippines - The American Studies Association of the Philippines Inc. (ASAP) 2010 will hold its first lecture series titled “Of Narratives and Expressions: Migration and American Literature” on Feb. 6, starting at 9 a.m., at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Conference Center in Manila.

The lecture will begin with a reading of an excerpt of a monologue, “Bienvenido, My Brother,” by Dr. Isagani Cruz. The first part of the lecture on “Filipino Writers in the US” will be tackled by STAR columnist Alfred Yuson while the second part will be handled by Angelo Lacuesta.

Karina Africa Bolasco of Anvil Press will later talk on “Publishing About Migration: The Fil-Am Market for Philippine Books.”

The two-hour lecture series is open to the public.
