Chinese painting exhibit at the Enterprise Center
MANILA, Philippines – After the successful Chinese painting exhibit at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall in January, the Chan Lim family and the Ateneo Confucius Institute Chinese painting students showcase the best of Chinese artistry in an exhibit which opens on Aug. 3 at the Enterprise Center Art Hall in Makati City. The show runs until Aug. 15.
The exhibit, which is the institute’s second off-campus group show, features 45 paintings by 30 artists mentored by Chinese painting professor Dr. Alex Chan Lim. He has been conducting Chinese painting classes at the institute since September 2007, a year after the Confucius Institute started its first cycle of classes.
Since its inauguration in October 2006, the Confucius Institute of the Ateneo de Manila University, headed by its director Dr. Ellen Palanca and associate director Prof. Zhang Shitao, has been promoting contemporary China in mainstream Philippine society.
Now in its 11th cycle, the Confucius Institute continues to hold classes on Chinese language, arts and culture.
The Confucius Institute offices are located at the two Ateneo campuses in Loyola Heights, Quezon City and Makati City.
