UP presents 'Sarsuwela Performances and Sarsuwela sa Pelikula'

As early as now, the University of the Philippines Diliman through the College of Arts and Letters is accepting bookings and reservations for the “UP Sarsuwela Perfomances and Sarsuwela Pelikula.” 

For only P75, the public can watch the following sarsuwela performances: Paglipas ng Dilim to be performed by the UE Drama Company from Feb. 4 to 6, 2009 at 6 p.m.; Walang Sugat by Barasoain Kalinangan Foundation Inc., from Feb. 11 to 13, 2009 at 6 p.m.; Sa Bunganga ng Pating by FEU Art Theatre Clinique, from February 18 to 20, 2009 at 6 p.m.; Ilonggo Sarsuwela, Padayon ang Istorya by UP Visayas Alumni Theater Company on Feb. 23 and 24, 2009 at 6 p.m.; and Ang Kiri to be performed by the Dulaang UP from Feb. 25 to 27, 2009 at 6 p.m.

All performances will be staged at the University Theater in UP Diliman except the Ilonggo Sarsuwela which will be staged at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrerro Theater, also in UP Diliman 

 And for only P50 per ticket, people will be treated to film screening at the UP Film Institute of Giliw Ko (1939) on Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Tunay na Ina (1939) on Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Maalaala Mo Kaya (1954), on Feb. 25 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; and Stardoom (1971) on Feb. 26 at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
