Bernal’s ‘Himala’ goes onstage

-
Tanghalang Pilipino, resident theater company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, stages the much-awaited theater event of the year by Ricky Lee and Vincent De Jesus – Himala (The Musical).

Based on the film by National Artist Ishmael Bernal, which critics have hailed as one of the best pictures ever produced by Philippine cinema, Himala is a moving story about faith and faithlessness, truth and delusion. This musical tackles the endless and timeless struggle of man in his quest to find something to believe in.

Introducing May Bayot as Elsa, Himala also stars Isay Alvarez, Cynthia Culig-Guico, Eladio Pamaran and Ariel Reonal with the special participation of Dulce.

Directed by Soxie Topacio, Himala (The Musical) is the collaborative work of premier scriptwriter Ricky Lee and multi-talented Vincent De Jesus with production design by New York trained Gino Gonzales.

Relive this awe-inspiring classic on Nov. 7, 8 p.m. at the Tanghalang Huseng Batute (CCP Studio Theater).

Himala (The Musical)
runs for three weekends with matinees at 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and evening performances at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
