Rhythms of the night
“Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we’re here for something else besides ourselves.” — Eric Sevareid
It was a lively and colorful evening at the Latin American-themed 36th anniversary ball of the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) at the Main Lounge of the Manila Polo Club.
The lovely FCCP president and annual ball committee over-all chairman Nene Pe Lim, escorted by her husband Benny, welcomed guests into a pulsating night of samba, cha-cha, salsa and flamenco.
The presentation of FCCP officers and board of directors preceded the dancing, which was signaled by Nene Pe Lim’s mean Argentine tango.
Funds raised from the dinner-dance will be used to donate a grand piano to the Cultural Center of the Philippines and continue the education of FCCP’s new and current scholars, three of which — a soprano, a violinist and a tenor — gave a bravura performance that night.
Bravo to the FCCP ladies!
