Of good food & great wine
A gathering of noted personalities from the metro’s elite circles took place at the premier five-star hotel in the Queen City of the South, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), for the celebration of the grandest wine festival, Soirée Beaujolais.
Starting off the magnificent event was the traditional uncorking of the Beaujolais Nouveau led by French Embassy Deputy Head of Mission Laurent Le Godec, French Honorary Consul Michel Lhuillier and wife Amparito, Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III, former Marco Polo Hotels Philippines area general manager Hans Hauri and MPPC hotel manager Julie Najar.
Guests indulged in a buffet of France’s mouthwatering culinary delights — including a wide assortment of cheese perfectly paired with free-flowing vintage wines.
The hotel’s Grand Ballroom was abuzz with excitement as fabulous prizes, including a grand prize of trip to Paris courtesy of Qatar Airways, were raffled off.
Congratulations to the hardworking Marco Polo Plaza Cebu team for staging this spectacular affair!
La dolce vita
Well-wishers of alabaster-skinned Ayna Ong enjoyed the faithfully Italian and delightfully inspired dishes served at her birthday dinner held at Paparazzi, the exquisite Italian dining restaurant at EDSA Shangri-La, Manila.
Many thanks to the hotel’s general manager Patrick Schaub and director of communications Cristina del Carmen for making sure our evening was a memorable one.
With a flourishing career in real estate and two good-looking and well-mannered sons, John Akio and Jonathan, Ayna truly has many reasons to be proud and grateful!
