The ‘Smart’ way to travel

- Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

Industry bigwigs and special guests went through a most fulfilling culinary journey through the heart of Italy at the exquisite dinner hosted by Italian Ambassador Massimo Roscigno with his lovely wife Agnes and charming daughter Ursula together with Smart Infinity, led by the tireless Infinity Business Group head Julie Carceller, and your columnist at the ambassador’s residence in Makati.

Smart Infinity’s “Culinary Journey” series was just one of many rewarding experiences provided by the country’s premium post-paid mobile phone service provider.

Catered by L’Opera Ristorante, the menu was absolutely special as it — from antipasto to dessert — held a special meaning to the Roscigno family. Restaurant owner and chef Paolo Nesi even created a dessert, Il Dolce di Ursula, a decadent chocolate and amaretto flan with fresh cream with the ambassador’s daughter in mind.

Bari-tenor Jack Salud’s rendition of classic Italian songs put the finishing touch to the elegant Italian gastronomic experience. Seen having a great time were Marco Polo Hotels, Philippines area general manager Hans Hauri, GT Capital Holdings Inc. vice chairman Alfred Ty, Co Ban Kiat Hardware Inc. chairman and president Johnny Cobankiat and Belo Medical Group founder and CEO Dr. Vicki Belo.

At the dinner, Julie Carceller together with Smart Infinity marketing manager James Chi shared with the guests how Smart Infinity provides each of its subscribers with a dedicated Infinity Relationship Officer to oversee one’s account.  It doesn’t stop there as Smart Infinity goes beyond mobile services with their Smart Infinity Worldwide Concierge, which can handle travel bookings and reservations, among others.

It was a truly remarkable and unforgettable evening with special thanks to the Roscigno family for graciously welcoming all of us into their lovely home.
