Wearable kink: Lace & lingerie
MANILA, Philippines - I love lace and lingerie! Two divine elements that epitomize flirty femininity. So imagine my delight when trend reports stated we could wear lingerie as outer wear! Now, before you bring out those drawstrings and Teddys, here are four easy guidelines to consider to make sure you don’t end up looking like you literally just jumped out of bed, friskily.
Sneaky Lace
It’s all about the chic balance between looking fashionable, feminine but not overly sexy.
Rather than sexy stilettos, try pairing your dresses with Chuck Taylors (as seen in the photo) to pull it off as a daytime look.
Warning: Sneakers can visually shorten your legs and make them look stubby. So low-cut sneakers and trendy slip-ons are best.
Race-y Lacey
Lace and lingerie can look too risqué especially when worn outdoors.
Cover up with a thin cardigan and tone down the sexiness by tying it around your waist or over the shoulders a la preppy style, for a more relaxed yet modern vibe.
Hard and Soft
Forget the pearls and frills. Fashionably juxtapose your soft lingerie-inspired pieces with hard, edgy, chunky accessories and masculine aviators.
Let Your Hair Down
Typical vava-voom curls only make you look vampy and borderline skanky.
Restrain that urge by keeping it low-key and allow your hair to come undone or be in its natural texture.
