Diamonds for a diva
“The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond, and must be polished, or the luster of it will never appear.†— Daniel Defoe
Jewelry that is as intriguingly beautiful as a woman was unveiled by Bulgari in a private salon show at La Casa Diva of Makati Shangri-La.
Inspired by the dolce vita glamour of the ‘50s and ‘60s, the Italian Jewel Diva collection features diamonds of the highest quality. It is set on 18K white gold, which is polished inside-out to give off an extra-white sparkle that is incomparably brilliant.
Guests were welcomed with Moët & Chandon champagne as they moved around the salon admiring the photographs of actresses of a bygone Hollywood: Elizabeth Taylor, Claudia Cardinale, Ingrid Bergman and other legendary beauties as a tribute to the iconic divas who all shared a love for Bulgari. At the opposite side of the room stood another wall with current-day divas such as Hilary Swank, Jessica Chastain, Tina Fey and Kate Hudson, to name a few.
Live violin music accompanied the formal dinner, which was an event in itself. The highlight of the evening was the fashion show that featured 10 models draped in lilac gowns wearing the most stunning pieces from the Diva collection that all bore the distinct design — a fan-like motif inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s makeup in the film Cleopatra.
Seen enjoying a night of red-carpet glamor and the blinding beauty of Bulgari were Bulgari country manager Mario Katigbak, Bergamo CEO and restaurateur Mel Meer, Angola Consul Helen Ong and Pangasinan Rep. Baby Arenas.
Look every inch a diva with Bulgari!
