A ball for Yolanda survivors

The Consular Corps of the Philippines recently held its Annual Consular Ball at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, and Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario made every effort to attend the event because he felt that this group of diplomats, both career and honorary, played a major role in strengthening our relationships with other countries.

Consular Corps Dean and Canada Consul General Steve Chapman invited us to join him at the Dean’s Table, informing us that this year, the members of the Executive Committee have unanimously agreed to donate all proceeds of the Ball to the survivors of typhoon Yolanda. 

During the event, the diplomatic group turned over P1 million to Secretary Del Rosario for the Yolanda fund, in addition to what their respective countries have already given to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for the typhoon survivors.
