‘Bossing’ MVP

The big guns of business gathered together for the annual PLDT SME Nation MVP Bossing Awards spearheaded by the Manny V. Pangilinan Group in partnership with Go Negosyo. The Bossing Awards recognizes hardworking Filipino entrepreneurs, who display creativity and make use of technology to succeed in their businesses. 

More than 200 nominees vied for the “Grand MVP Bossing” award for 2013, which went to Zest-O Corp.’s big boss Alfred Yao. This year’s theme, “Ang Gilas ng Filipino Entrepreneur,” focuses on the Filipino’s characteristics that enable him to overcome challenges and succeed even in the face of adversity.

A highlight of the event was the distribution of donation envelopes designed like bricks to signify “blocks of hope” — with guests requested to write inspirational messages to go with their cash donations for victims of typhoon Yolanda. The event raised P3.9 million, which will be turned over to the PLDT Smart Foundation as seed money for rehabilitation activities.
