Have a rock & lipstick Christmas!

UPTOWN DOWNTOWN - Joanne Zapanta-Andrada - The Philippine Star

For this Christmas season, Naf Naf takes its influence from the energy and optimism of the ‘60s in England. In this collection, the Paris line presses the replay button (for those of us who still remember what a tape recorder is!) and heads back to the era of Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

To achieve this rock-doll image, tomboy blousons are paired with short pleated skirts; flashy iron pleat stovepipe pants are matched with pristine tops. Tweed tops are played against fanciful slim jeans and tiny narrow sweaters while Peter Pan-shaped collars, A-shaped short dresses abound. Colorful and playful prints of cherries, polka dots and hearts add a festive feel and feline prints gives allure to the ensembles.

The popular Naf Naf brand was created in 1978 by brothers Gérard and Patrick Pariente. The line has since grown into a global franchise and has made headlines in Manila as a go-to line for modern yet feminine garments, accessories and footwear. In 1984, Cinderella Dresses introduced the Paris brand to the Philippines and has succeeded in making Naf Naf popular among the 18- to 30-year-old demographic.

(Naf Naf is available in all Cinderella branches.)
