Glam to go
We are halfway through the “ber” months and as the weather slowly gets cooler, we anticipate the profusion of bazaars and traffic. Your neighborhood cafe has been cranking up Christmas tunes that will most likely last until late January. In a few weeks, you will be receiving those party invitations while balikbayan friends and relatives will be waiting for you to fetch them at NAIA and dinner get-togethers will be piling up. With all the goings-on in the next few weeks, it is a fair question to ask: What is a gal to wear?
Every busy working woman expects both glamour and ease in her outfits. Add to that, we all want our tag prices to read “reasonable while looking outrageously expensive.” Thankfully for such women-in-Yuletide-crisis, there is Viola, a clothing line that offers several options in party dresses.
For those who wish for a fabulous yet no-fuss approach to the Yuletide (fashion) season, we suggest using stretch material for the season. Stretch does not always mean body hugging. The material, whether jersey or cotton knit, is permitted to conform to a woman’s body and in so doing, gives an outfit a better “made-to-measure” look. It is also advised to have at least one aspect of your ensemble stand out. Perhaps it is the color of your material, an eye-catching accessory or a subtle deviation in the cut of an otherwise classic outfit. These unobtrusive differences go a long way in leveling up an overall look and making an outfit stand out in the crowd.
