'SIA Journeys' hails Pinoy winner

MANILA, Philippines - After months of waiting, a Filipino has finally emerged victorious for the third leg of Singapore Airlines’ online gaming promotion, SIA Journeys.

An avid KrisFlyer, Jayson Din bested online gaming aficionados from around the globe who participated in the event — walking away with two Singapore Airlines Business Class tickets on top of other prizes.

“Playing on SIA Journeys was pleasant. I usually visit the site during short breaks between my meetings and would just choose a game that catches my attention at that time,” says Din. Aside from the tickets, Din also received 25,000 KrisFlyer Miles. This is equivalent to one round-trip Economy Class ticket from Manila to Singapore, and is an exclusive perk for winners based in the Philippines.

“I didn’t even know there was a local competition. All the while I was thinking that it’s impossible to win since there are so many Singapore Airlines frequent flyers to compete with,” he said.

Din played for fun without hopes of winning, engaging endlessly in quizzes, puzzles and other recreational online media that chronicled Singapore Airlines’ world-class aircrafts, history and service during each phase. He also vows — and encourages fellow SIA fans — to engage in the fourth leg of the online gaming promo, which is ongoing until Oct. 23.

SIA Journeys is open to all passengers (KrisFlyer or not) as long as they register and acquire an online gaming “passport” from the website. Bonus points are also rewarded for unlocking extra hard levels, or by simply flying aboard any SIA aircraft.
