'In Full Bloom'

- Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” — Mahatma Gandhi

The North Forbes Park Pavilion was transformed into a big garden for the annual tea party of the Catholic Women’s Club (CWC) dubbed In Full Bloom. CWC 2012 president Sol Tan-Gatue said the yearly event is one of the oldest traditions of the club to celebrate the members’ long-standing friendship and unity to serve in the spirit of charity. During the garden-themed affair, awards of appreciation were presented to CWC members: Imelda Cojuangco, Esther Vibal and Bea Zobel Jr. for their devotion, generosity and selfless service to the club. Three new members Alma Horn, Femy Lonzaga, Chelito Perez and Nonie Basilio were also inducted into the prestigious club. Founded in 1921 as a service organization, the CWC aims to help various institutions and individuals through donations and scholarship grants. The organization also helps build a Gawad Kalinga Village in Taguig City.

More power to you, ladies!

The Phantom of the Opera in Manila

A collaboration of two giants in the business community, Smart Infinity and Citibank, in cooperation with the Philippine Airlines, will present Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Main Theater from Aug. 25 until Sept. 30.

Now on its 26th year, the longest-running Broadway musical has been seen by over 130 million people worldwide and has garnered more than 50 major theater awards. Special thanks to the fabulous team of Concertus, Inc. managing director Bambi Rivera-Verzo and Hi-Definition Radio Inc. CEO Francis Lumen for bringing in a gem of a show. Joining the international cast and orchestra are some of Manila’s talented local musicians, including the talented and seasoned Filipino tenor Dondi Ong, making the show even more captivating.

See you at the CCP!
