The Philippines, being an archipelago, is composed of diverse cultures and attractions. With every detail backed by rich history, the daily life and scenery in the Philippines is definitely worthy of various artistic interpretations, giving it an even more interesting angle. It was such a blessing to the local art scene when the charming Austro-Chinese artist Yan Donko, wife of Austrian Ambassador Wilhelm Donko, recently unveiled her art exhibit entitled The Philippines in Chinese Paintings. Held at the East Wing Gallery of the Museum of the Filipino People in Manila, Yan Donko expressed her sincerest gratitude to her family, friends and colleagues from the diplomatic, business and social circles, who extended their support for her passion. A ribbon-cutting ceremony jumpstarted the event led by Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq, Philippine Investment Management, Inc. president and CEO Ramon del Rosario Jr. and philanthropist and SGV founder Washington SyCip.
