A love to last forever
The most awaited day in the lives of Acky Ferreria and Kitty Dulay finally arrived. On a gorgeously sunny Sunday, the 1st of July, family and close friends joyfully gathered together to witness their blessed union. What God engineered 10 years ago culminated in an intimate wedding at the picturesque Punta Fuego by the sea in the peaceful town of Nasugbu, Batangas.
Fr. Art Borja, a long-time family friend of the Ferrerias, officiated the wedding ceremony at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, wherein the couple lovingly exchanged their own personal wedding vows.
Acky faced the love of his life, tenderly held her hand, and said: “Here we are at the end of a decade-long obsession, ready to begin the rest of our lives together. Kitty, I promise to continue this journey now as your husband, never wasting your airtime or our airtime together. You are the beginning, the middle and the end of this story that will last forever.”
A teary-eyed Kitty said, “I woke up this morning relishing God’s faithfulness to me. Acky, you are an answered prayer. I am overwhelmed by the fact that God has blessed me beyond what I had asked. I still have many ‘I can’t believe it moments,’ especially when I think of how our friendship started and how far we have come. It is only by looking back that I see that God must have planned this all along.
“My new prayer is that God help me every day to be the kind of wife He wants me to be for you.
“I promise to be loving, faithful and patient. I promise to be supportive of your dreams and to celebrate with you in your victories, big and small. I promise to hold on to our true joy when difficulties come. I promise to be brave in facing challenges knowing that you will support me as you always have. I promise to work on my weaknesses so I can be a better partner to you, and a great mom to our future children. I promise to be grateful for all that you do for me and for our family.
“You are my biggest blessing and I am so excited to experience what God has planned in this great story for us.”
The above exchange was the highlight of the wedding ceremony. The very first to shed tears of joy was Acky’s doting dad, Andy Ferreria. He had been praying and waiting for the day to see his only son happily settled with the woman who captured his heart.
What qualities drew them to each other? Father Art shared, “Kitty fell in love with Acky because of his very caring ways. He is so much of a family person, just like his father.”
Acky, on the other hand, was drawn to Kitty because she is so easy to be with. There were absolutely no discomforts in their togetherness. This humble lady is thoughtful, smart and sensible. He loves all that about her, and more.
The lively afternoon reception at the Punta Fuego clubhouse was filled with music courtesy of Acky’s talented uncle Cadio Ferreria and his band. The dramatic finale of their reception was a sunset ceremonial lighting of lanterns by the infinity pool overlooking the West Philippine Sea. Groups of guests were requested to take lanterns and say their special prayer intentions for the couple as they lighted and lifted them high up to the heavenly skies. It was a touching ending to such a beautiful wedding.
Like a feel-good movie, everyone headed home carrying warm and wonderful memories of a day they will never forget.
Congratulations and happy honeymooning, Acky and Kitty!
