Guest designer Dennis Lustico plays with florals and geometric prints on pure cotton shirts. A pale palette of pink, yellow and pistachio slashes the formality as the “stiff resortwear” yields a dressy casual attitude. Embellished with his signature detailing, there is also reassurance in Lustico’s piña barongs for Bergamo. The fashion conceptualist carefully rounds up floral motifs, without compromising masculinity, and elements as simple but definitely dressier than the usual embroidery.
Mel Meer, president and CEO of Bergamo, says about Lustico: “We really agree on designs. I like simple but different, and that’s what he gives. It’s not simple-simple, it’s detailed but the decoration is just right. You have to have something there, like a little bit of embroidery to a certain extent. But for men, you have to be very careful.”

The label takes pride with its tuxedo suit made up of Italian lightweight wool fabric, matched with the tuxedo shirt that is Egyptian cotton. Polishing the style are Fumagalli’s pure silk black bowtie and cummerbund from Italy. Bergamo also underscores the classic tuxedo with a brave, different approach. One key piece characterizes minimalism — no ties, no cummerbunds, no lapels — but infuses a relaxed elegance that only the man of the moment can wear.
