Viva Argentina!
“Our attitude toward life determines life’s attitude towards us.” — John Mitchell
The second largest nation in South America, Argentina, recently celebrated its 202nd 1810 May Revolution. The celebration commemorated the last step before the establishment of what is known today as the Argentinian government. Miles apart as Argentina and the Philippines may be, the people of both nations share a lot of things and ideas — the currency name, similarities in religion, culture as well as passion for freedom and upholding the welfare of their citizens. These, and the strong ties between the two countries, make the National Day of Argentina a special celebration for Argentine nationals and Filipino constituents in the Philippines.
United with jovial spirits, Argentine diplomats led by Argentine Ambassador Joaquin Daniel Otero and wife Marta welcomed the country’s A-listers at The Rockwell Club in Makati City to commemorate the triumph of Argentina. Diplomats, government leaders, top executives and other stellar personalities, including Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines and dean of the Diplomatic Corps Giuseppe Pinto, Sen. Edgardo Angara and Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Esteban Conejos, Jr., among many others, all joined the Argentine delegation for a magnificent observance of this monumental day for Argentina.
Happy National Argentina Day! Cheers!
