When designer Jan Garcia was asked to come out with a new collection, he decided to go all out by way of Marrakesh.

“Morocco is one of the most vibrant places in the planet,” shares Garcia. “For this collection, I used lots of vibrant mosaic printed brocade paired with almost white wool boucle. Silk barathea, tapestries and mattelesses are cut together in singular pieces embellished with beadings.” So, Garcia’s gowns and coordinated pieces are detailed with salhi’s shapes that are “buttress like” panels that side sweep away from the slick silhouette.

Not the type to keep his creations understated, Garcia says further, “The look and shape is very severe with an interplay of print and pattern mixes. It’s a new take in texture by putting together structured tops and layering them with soft dresses and still manage to show a lot of legs and skin.” In Garcia’s design, muses will come out looking like sensual oxymorons. They will be nymphs bedecked with masculine authoritative tailored overlays on slashed and flowing chiffon frocks.
