An act of kindness goes a long way

FAMILY JEWELS - Michelle Dayrit-Soliven -

As the 6 a.m. sun rose to reveal perfect golfing weather, an enthusiastic crowd of golfers converged at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club to register at the Fourth Tabang Golf Tournament. They knew they were there to play for a reason: to help the students of the Divine Healer Academy in Cabid-an, Sorsogon to continue their schooling. The school has now 292 students from Kinder to first year high school who all enjoy quality education.

Tabang, in Bicolano dialect, means ‘to help.’ Your kindness goes such a long way,” expressed Fr. Gerard Deveza, founder of the Healing Servants Foundation, as he gratefully welcomed all those who answered his plea to help by playing for a good cause.

Fr. Gerard is serious about helping the students of Divine Healer Academy achieve their dreams. Since last year, the foundation has enjoined others to donate P50 to send a poor student to school. Fr. Gerard and the members of his foundation continue to knock on people’s hearts. All these they do because they want to assure the future of the students of the Divine Healer Academy.

(If you wish to help send a student to school with your P50, please call Fr. Gerard Deveza at 0917-5382033. Would love to hear from you at miladayjewels@yahoo.com)
