Let's go North

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila North Tollways Corp., the National Association of Independent Travel Agencies and Pilipinas Shell recently put together the first ever travel fair along a hi-way, Tara Na sa Norte! The 1st NLEX Outdoor Travel Fair. The event’s opening ceremony was graced by no less than Tourism Undersecretary Oscar Palabyab and director Bless Diwa. Also part of the VIP list were NAITAS founder Bobby Joseph, Pilipinas Shell’s Jojo Conde, Paul Tadlip, Terry Valladores and Ellen Cundangan, together with Metro Pacific Tollways president and CEO Ramoncito Fernandez and MNTC’s president Rod Franco and VP-marketing Renie Ticzon.

The travel fair had 28 exhibitors mostly composed of properties and travel agents from Bulacan, Pampanga, Baguio, Bataan and other provinces in the north. The best booth design was awarded to Sparkling Surabaya, the lone foreign exhibitor of the fair, as the best selling effort award was given to Manejkom Travel and Tours. Other exhibitors included the John Hay Manor, Microtel Hotels and Resorts, Camaya Coast, St. Agatha’s Resort & Country Club, Eastwood Properties, Resorts World and the Bulacan Association of Resort Owners.

The travel fair organizers were very happy with the number of motorists that flocked to NLEX-Shell in Balagtas, Bulacan to check out the different items the two-day event had to offer. MNTC and NAITAS are looking at the possibility of having the event yearly, as some of the exhibitors are hoping for it to be done twice a year. The organizers would like to thank its partners — Burger King, Pizza Hut, Jollibee and Starbucks for making the event a success.
