Thousands of indigent eye patients from Ifugao, Cagayan Valley and other neighboring provinces will soon see light and beauty as Dr. Felipe Tolentino, gracious president of Restoring Sight International (RSI) and Ophthalmological Foundation of the Philippines (OFPHIL), recently opened a dedicated eye center for the community with the help of several artists selflessly joining the cause. Through the endearing efforts of Dr. Tolentino’s artist patient Betsy Westendrop, an internationally-recognized Filipino-Spanish painter, together with Ambassador and Manila Polo Club past president Isabel Caro Wilson, a well-attended art sale for the benefit of the eye center was held at the Manila Polo Club. Aside from the magnificent paintings of Betsy, the charitable affair featured some of the masterpieces of today’s celebrated artists: National Artist Bencab, Ramon Diaz, Impy Pilapil, Valeria Cavestany and sculptor Duddley Diaz. On the same occasion, Ambassador Wilson led the Centennial Renewal Project, which beautifully showcased the works of art curated by Silvana Ancelloti-Diaz. What a truly inspiring event for a good cause!

A Special Chinese Celebration
Every year, ageless beauties Madeleine Lim and Kay Young gather their close friends for a festive Chinese New Year celebration, this year at the elegant Escolta of the Peninsula Manila in Makati. Recently, the group ushered in the Year of the Tiger with an intimate celebration marked by good vibes, prosperity and a delectable fare. The charming ladies partied the night away, toasting to a promising new year of success, happiness and everlasting friendship! May you have many more celebrations ahead!
