Three's a party
“Do not follow where the path may lead.
Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” — Harold McAlindon
The plush North Forbes Park home of the consummate host Mely and the Rotary International officer and famed Olympian basketball player Paing Hechanova recently opened its doors for a sit-down dinner in honor of former California State Assembly speaker and Mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown Jr., Philippine Consul general to San Francisco and presidential assistant for state and foreign visits Marciano Paynor Jr. and San Francisco Civil Service commissioner and chairman of the San Francisco-Manila Sister City Committee E. Dennis Normandy.
Lovely couples Raul Concepcion with his wife Menchu and Jose Concepcion Jr. with his wife Marivic also served as the hosts for the gathering that brought together a delegation of almost 150 San Franciscans. All the guests enjoyed the celebration done in the usual Mely Hechanova tradition where a sumptuous feast of various delicacies was served, including a buffet of 17 different desserts. A stirring musical performance from the talented Jay Cayuca with his magical violin served as the entertainment for that evening. Among the special guests were Ayala Corp.’s Don Jaime and Bea Zobel de Ayala, Jaime Augusto and Lizzie Zobel, Fernando and Kit Zobel, Victor Makras, Gregory Chew, Dr. Elenita Binay and Ambassador Isabel Wilson.
Cheers!
