An enchanting Vienna concert
“Music is the vernacular of human soul.” — Geoffrey Latham
Just recently, the Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines (JSSP) restaged the Traditional Vienna Concert at the Musikverein-like decorated ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental, Manila. The world-renowned concert was chaired by JSSP VP and Mandarin Oriental GM Helmut Gaisberger and co-chairs JSSP VP Olga Martel and JSSP director Mila How together with JSSP president Honorary Consul of Monaco Fortune Aleta Ledesma.
The concert featured the Manila Symphony Orchestra under the baton of guest Austrian conductor Prof. Ernest Hoetzl. Notable guests such as Ambassador Herbert Jaeger of Austria and his lovely wife Martina enjoyed a superb ensemble of famous waltzes and polkas of Johann Strauss II as well as those of his brother, Josef, and father, Johann Strauss I. The proceeds of this special event will benefit the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the GeoChris Foundation, a non-government foundation led by Austrian missionary Fr. George Ziselsberger, SVD. It was a truly inspiring evening at the multi-Kalakbay awardee Mandarin Oriental.
Cheers! Hail to the Chief!
Nailing down international business relationships, astute and dapper CATS Motors president Felix Ang treated former head of Mercedes-Benz Thailand and Daimler Southeast Asia’s newly appointed president and CEO Wolfgang Huppenbauer to a lively dinner. A hearty meal and exchange of plausible business ideas took place in an atmosphere of fun and camaraderie. Bottoms up, gentlemen!
