They answered the call

FAMILY JEWELS - Michelle Dayrit-Soliven -

In answer to Fr. Gerard Deveza’s fervent prayers, the day of the first ever fundraising Tabang (Help) Golf Tournament was blessed with the best golfing weather any golfer could pray for. So overwhelmed and grateful was he by the turnout of players who played their hearts out for a good cause on the challenging greens of Canlubang Golf and Country Club.

“I would like to thank all those who helped, sponsored, played and supported this worthy event. God knows who you are. The word tabang means ‘help.’ Thank you for answering the call. May God continue to bless you all. With the proceeds from the tournament, our grade school called the Divine Healer Learning Center in Cabid-an, Sorsogon City will now have a new classroom. This will enable us to accommodate more children from impoverished families who badly need a good education in order to secure their dreams for a better future,” said Fr. Gerard, a well-loved priest and founder of the Healing Servants Foundation Inc.

For those who wish to help, it only costs P7,000 to send one student to school for one whole school year. The money will go to books, supplies, uniforms, shoes, food and teachers’ salaries.

These poor schoolchildren who will benefit from your kindness will surely grow up with grateful hearts.
