Christmas in the South

To my dear readers, may the joyous sprit of Christmas give you hope, grant you love and bring you peace. And may its warmth enfold your hearts and homes.

 Whenever the merry month of December comes around, expect the family of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Asia’s premier travel destination, to start the Christmas festivities by getting together for the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Every year, it starts with Santa Claus parading the property in a kalesa “sleigh” escorted by his little helper and ends at the resort lobby, where guests can have photos taken together with Santa. Your columnist happened to be there to grace the occasion along with Plantation Bay’s chairman and CEO Emmanuel “Manny” Gonzalez and hardworking GM Efren Belarmino.

Myrna Panlilio Borromeo recently celebrated her birthday, Broadway style, with a musical soiree at the PICC Banquet Hall. Close friends and celebrity guests such as Jose Mari Chan, Ricky Davao and Robert Arevalo took part in the show as they entertained the audience. In lieu of gifts, friends donated to the Trisha P. Borromeo Legacy Association, Inc. which aids the UP-PGH Cancer Pediatric Ward. Guests enjoyed excellent music and a delectable buffet catered by Via Mare. It was a truly magnificent celebration of great talents and big hearts.
