A delightful vintage evening

- Johnny Litton -

“Beauty is not caused. It is.” — Emily Dickinson

Moet-Hennessy, the leading ultra premium wine and spirits company in the world, once again took Manila’s elite audience to new heights with its Veuve Clicquot Vintage Dinner at the Makati Shangri-La’s Red. The exclusive media and VIP gathering was hosted by regional director of Veuve Clicquot Bruno Yvon. Guests were treated to an epicurean delight with craftsman’s precision pairing with Veuve Clicquot’s Vintage Rich 1999, Vintage Reserve 1999 and the Vintage Rose 2000. The intimate event was conceptualized by Moet-Hennessy chief representative Olga Azarcon and business development manager Randy Uson in partnership with executive assistant manager Christian Sack and chef Ruediger Lurz of the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

Here’s to another Clicquot moment!

Bridal shower at Dusit

Just recently, Evelyn Singson and Remy Macalincag threw a bridal shower for their goddaughter Reena Acop at the Dusit Hotel Nikko’s Fiesta San Miguel. An intimate gathering of close friends and family took place during the joyous occasion. The beautiful bride, daughter of Gen. Romy and Dr. Resurrecion Acop, is now happily married to businessman-entrepreneur Frederick Figueras. Congratulations and much happiness!

Johnny’s wine of the week

This week, your columnist recommends Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Reserve, a wine bearing concentrated juicy cherry and blackberry fruit, with fragrant spice and black pepper notes complemented by subtle toasty cedar oak. This deep garnet with purple hues wine is full-bodied and finely balanced with supportive cedar and vanillan oak flavors. Fruit and oak tannins are harmonized to provide a velvety soft and persistent tannin finish. Best with beef, duck, lamb and cheeses.
