An architect’s tribute

- Johnny Litton -

“Art is the elimination of the unnecessary.” — Pablo Picasso

To honor their valued clients and to present a special publication of Function + Form, a coffee table book of the W.V. Coscolluela & Asscociates’ most notable projects, renowned architect Willie Coscolluela, his family and associates recently hosted a cocktail at the Tower Club for over 300 special guests. Among the many clients and friends who joined the Coscolluelas in celebration were luminaries from the Philippine legislative and executive branches, top industrialists and business personalities. Each guest was gifted with a complimentary copy of the book, which was conceived and executed by Willie’s daughter Mara and her husband Kirby Quintal, as a tribute to the distinguished architectural practice of their well-known father. The guests were serenaded with the music of the Aquarela, the inimitable violinist Jay Cayuca and sultry Agot Isidro.

Congratulations and more power to the Coscolluela family!

Roaming in Rome

A group of Assumption alumnae or “Old Girls,” led by no less than President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, took a trip to Rome for the canonization of Mother Marie Eugenie, the foundress of the Nuns of Assumption Order, who championed a goal of forming a congregation of women able to transform society through education and contemplative life. The trip was also an avenue to tighten the bonds that hold Assumption “Old Girls” tightly — a sisterhood that never gets old.

Congratulations on a splendid trip!
