MIX-tical experience!

UPTOWN DOWNTOWN - Joanne Zapanta-Andrada -
The MIX Boutique, under the management of retail expert Mia Borromeo, has since added a number of heavyweight clothing and accessory names in the industry. Chief among the list are ensembles by Cynthia Vincent, Common Thread, Milly and Tracy Reese. Accessories from Kenneth Jay Lane and NY-based Filipino sensation Rafe Totengco have also enjoyed brisk sales.

"We have been enjoying a boom in our business particularly because of our attention to the latest trends and the right product mix," explains Borromeo. "We still have the Jean Bar that carries lines such as True Religion, 7 Jean and Habitual. Jeans remain as our top selling wardrobe piece."

Cynthia Vincent’s vision for 2006 is about layering. Her clothes range in texture from soft chiffon to whimsical tassled shrugs. Kenneth Jay Lane is a genius in eye-popping jewelry. His gold-drop earrings and giant cocktail rings will never fail to call attention. For this photo shoot, we present two metallic clutches from Rafe in a mini-version of the granny bag. Each clutch has two compartments for added storage.

Another feature that is always appreciated by the jet set is detail work. "7 Jeans for instance has come out with A Great China Wall denim in white material delightfully embroidered on the hip portion with red thread. The look stands out in such a way that any simple top would suffice. Milly, on the other hand, is a throwback to the past. The deep V-neck halter dress in rich printed fabric needs nothing to further augment its pizzaz," explains Borromeo. "Mix is all about choices. Our clothes stand out not only because of their quality and unique styles. They can be mixed and matched to make different incarnations that would certainly be a boon to any wardrobe."
