Expressions and impressions of beauty
October 16, 2005 | 12:00am
"The artist is the only man who knows what to do with beauty." Jean Rostand
Art aficionados came together to celebrate beauty, art and community during the recent unveiling of multi-talented abstract expressionist painter Ivan Acuñas latest exhibition, Beauty in a Rhapsody of Color Palettes, at Essenses in Rustans Makati. The collection uses vibrant shades and rich textures similar to that of global cosmetics brands such as Bobbi Brown, Christian Dior and Laura Mercier to express the many moods of a woman.
As a fitting tribute, a portion of the proceeds from the paintings sold at the exhibit were donated to the Essenses Foundation of Rustans which supports various womens causes. Spotted at the event were Shopwise president Donnie Tantoco and his lovely wife Crickette, VP for marketing and merchandising and the moving spirit behind the event. Also in attendance were Rustans VP for cosmetics and toiletries Rhoda Campos, VP for human resources Marilen Tantoco-Valbuena, marketing and services manager Jenny Teves and corporate events manager Toni Abad.
Congratulations to Ivan for another successful show!
