STAR DREAM GIRL: Kelsey Santa Cruz

-
Yes, Virginia. She is a dead-ringer for Hollywood’s Alicia Silverstone of the famed Clueless and Miss Match. But this teener is definitely one classic beauty who deserves a second look. Meet Kelsey Santa Cruz.

Standing 5’5"-tall, Kelsey is a high school student at the North Oldhan in Kentucky. This half-Filipino, half-American stunner is the daughter of Santiago Santa Cruz and the former Donna Holcond.

Aside from her studies, Kelsey is also busy with her passion – horse- back riding. She started riding at the age of five. She has also joined local competitions back in her hometown. Kelsey’s love affair with this high-brow sport is no surprise since she is an animal lover.

"I love the idea of interacting with and training animals," she says.

A self-confessed music lover, Kelsey enjoys listening to indie, reggae, mellow and jazz.

In college, Kelsey plans to take up psychology because she wants to study human body language and behavior.

Even if she was raised with the Pinoy touch, Kelsey describes herself as very American, spontaneous, independent. She also adds that she tries to be positive in a lot of things. She is very calm and says she can’t afford to be mean.

Since it’s summer in the States, Kelsey is here for a vacation to spend time with her Filipino relatives. In fact, part of her itinerary is to attend a family reunion.

"Here, everybody knows everybody," says Kelsey. "Filipinos are nice and very close with each other. Everybody is polite."

With Kelsey’s striking looks and endearing traits, it will be no wonder if modeling offers rain on her while she’s in town. –Jerry Donato
